Three Tips to Move You Towards Your Goals

People often ask me, “Melinda, how do you get so much done in a day?”

I will let you in on a little secret…a good night’s sleep!

“But how you do you achieve that if you are someone who struggles?”

I am sure you all know the importance of a good night’s rest.

But do you take intentional steps to make sure you achieve it?

Here are some tips and ideas to help you if you are struggling.

  1. Ryan and I get seven-eight hours of sleep a night. A typical day is in bed by 8 pm up by 4 am. And sometimes we even go to bed at 7 pm. I realize we don’t have children; however, my point is to have a sleep schedule that works for you. Listen to your body. If you need more sleep, figure out how to make it happen.
  2. Are you sleeping with your pets? Well…you know what I mean. Nine times out of ten, when I am working with someone and, start talking about their sleep habits, their dogs, cats, or multiple animals are in their bed. Not in our house. Our three dogs are nice and comfy in our kitchen on their bean bags with a bowl of water and relaxing music. They are happy and just fine.
  3. What do you say to yourself, out loud or in your head, before you go to bed? What you choose to say can be prayers, or affirmations, depending on if you are religious or spiritual. Every night Ryan and I say the following:
    • What are we grateful for, including good things that happened during the day.
    • We ask for help with what we are working towards and desire.
    • We ask for help to remove any negative energy. Bad energy can be from social media, other people, or brought on by yourself.
    • We say “thank you” for our health, safety, and a peaceful night’s rest until it’s time to get up.

Getting a good night’s rest is most important for brain functionality and overall getting stuff done.

Like…taking action!

And taking action towards your goals builds confidence you can achieve them.
