Change- Are You Saying, “Bah Hum Bug”?

What’s going on with this year?  It’s been crazy and now, it’s almost over!

Remember all the IG and FB posts?  Every coach, IG influencer, celebrity, etc. was posting about how 2020 was going to be THE YEAR!  Sure, many of us were on that bandwagon too.  I was.  Being a person who positively looks to the future, why not?

And if you are struggling, I understand.  My husband and I are both self-employed and rely on tourists.  I lost something I do for income, which was a surprise, but then I gained something else.  It will be more work, but, in the end, I am hopeful that it will work out in my benefit.  I shifted my mindset to think of the opportunity, not what I lost.

So now what?  Besides being optimistic that things will get back to some sense of normalcy and will all work out well.  How do we deal with what’s going on right now?

Take some time to think about how you are feeling.

Do you ever do that?  Do you take some quiet time to think about how you are feeling?

Are you:

  • Happy?
  • Optimistic?
  • Proud?
  • Sad?
  • Anxiety?
  • Worried?

Often, we get so caught up in everyone else’s feelings, trying to please others, and take care of things, that we don’t bask in our emotions.  Time goes by, and you haven’t realized how you are doing.

Take time to document what you have accomplished this year.

Instead of thinking about things that don’t bring you joy, think about what you have done.

Even if it’s difficult, I bet you can think of something.  Here are some ideas to spur your creativity if you are stuck:

  • Spent more time with XXXX (dogs, children, husband)
  • Learned something new
  • Cleaned my closet(s)
  • Started a newsletter or some other form of building your business
  • Connected with people virtually

Celebrate and think about how you will move forward.

Sometimes we get down, or we can get triggered by something someone says, something we read or watch.  Create a bucket of good thoughts that remind yourself of what you have accomplished.  It doesn’t matter how big or small.  Every step along the way counts, and you can celebrate it.

Then think about how you can keep going, moving forward towards to future!
